About

The online investment scene is full of big promises to fast fortunes, without any transparency. We want to change that.

We, at Contrarius Sapiens, want to spread our knowledge and enthusiasm about innovation and investments in an entertaining and fully transparent way. This telegram group allows us to do exactly that. In this group, research, recent buy and sell orders, and market prospects will be shared. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

In the end, we hope this information helps members make better decisions when scaling their stock market portfolios.

Explore This Strategy

We believe that over time, change is the only constant. Therefore, we need to look into the future and evaluate what industries and what companies are going to be big players. We like to invest in companies with good management, positioned favorably in secular growth trends. These companies can trade at high valuations, making investing in them a tricky business. We try to find situations where the markets in aggregate are not enthusiastic or positive about certain companies. With enough in depth research, we go against the grain and try to position the portfolio in ways that are favourable for generating alpha. This is also where the name “Contrarius Sapiens” comes from. Loosely translated it means: “going against the grain in a sophisticated manner.”

We are convinced beating the markets is possible, but individuals need to play to their strengths; and not let greed and fear get in the way of their long term goals. Therefore, we only take long positions in the companies we like in the form of buying equity. No trading, no shorts, and no derivatives.

The Contrarius Sapiens Fund

This Telegram group is a preparation for a big project we have been dreaming about for a long time. We want to start a growth-oriented investment fund that buys publicly traded equities. The fund will have our investment philosophy and a structure that deviates from the norm in the industry. The fund managers will only get paid if the fund achieves benchmark outperformance for its investors, and the managers must have a significant portion of their net worth invested in the fund. This way, the fund hopes to overcome the mismatch of incentives between managers and investors.
